Named after the legendary Paul Morphy — chess’s greatest natural genius — Morphy Chess Academy was founded in 1996 by Candidate Master Vinod Bhagwat in Nashik, Maharashtra. Over 30 years, we have trained more than 3,500 students.
We run structured offline classes every Saturday & Sunday at our Nashik centre, and year-round online programs with strictly limited batch sizes — ensuring every student receives focused personal attention from our principal coach.

A FIDE Instructor, National Arbiter, and Candidate Master with over 30 years of competitive chess and coaching experience.
CM Vinod Bhagwat founded Morphy Chess Academy in 1996 to bring world-class chess coaching to Nashik. After balancing a distinguished 20-year career as a Central Excise and GST officer alongside his passion for the game, he took Voluntary Retirement (VRS) to dedicate himself entirely to his students. He holds the FIDE Candidate Master (CM) title, a peak international Elo of 2271, and has mentored Grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi among many other champions.
